Ouch, My Chin
I have to be careful when I yawn. Sometimes, when I yawn wide, one particular muscle in my chin locks up/cramps, exactly like a charlie horse in your foot. It’s quite painful, and it takes like 5-10 seconds to make it uncramp (and panic that it will stay that way!).
I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone else who has this same problem. It recurrs every once in a while - it’s definitely something that happens to me every now and then, not just a freak occurrence.
So yeah. I just thought I’d like to share another little weird thing about me. And it just happened and I wanted to write/talk about it.
Iowa Caucuses
So I took part in one of the biggest and most important events yesterday. That is the Iowa Caucuses. This is the first of many to come but we are the first. I went to the Republican one even though I’m registered Independent. I had to register as a Republican to vote today but it was worth it. I threw my hat in the ring for Mike Huckabee. My top three choices were Mike Huckabee, John McCain, and Fred Thompson. In the end I decided to stick with Huckabee.
I also volunteered to represent Mike Huckabee as my district, Newton 3-2’s, first place choice on March 8, 2008. Other people from our district will present Mitt Romney as our second, and John McCain as our third, to the county. I am really wanting to see if I can get nominated to go to the Republican National Convention in September of 2008. That would be a dream come true.
I never was big into politics but for some reason ever since the Bush vs. Kerry election I have been somewhat into them. That and the whole caucus thing got me interested again this year. So that is why you see Mike Huckabee stuff on this site. I proudly am backing him and hope he wins it all. Let’s try and avoid putting someone like Hillary Clinton in office. We already went through her husband. Do you really want to put her in there now too? I sure don’t.
That’s another thing. I really don’t mind Barack Obama. He’s got a good record. He’s young and such and true while he may not have a long history or track record his ideas aren’t all that bad even if he is a liberal.
Anyways I was proud to say I voted in the Iowa Caucuses and look forward to the main election.
Below are current results taken from http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?Category=caucus. Not all counties have reported but the candidates have made the secessions and the winners have claimed their respective victories.

Memories
Memories. What a great thing to have. Was recently talking to my mom during a recent visit she and my step-dad made to Newton about how songs trigger alot of childhood memories for me. I’m not sure how other people work but for me music is the biggest trigger factor for past memories. Mostly childhood ones though.
For example the song Broken Wings by Mister Mister (a great 80’s pop song). That song for some reason reminds me of driving through an area in Virginia as a kid. It was Hershberger Rd in Roanoke, VA (I think it was Roanoke). I can picture the intersection, driving past the Bojangles chicken place, the old Firestone movie theater, the old mall there (Crossroads Mall if I remember correctly). Heard the song today again on the radio and sure enough my mind started wondering back to Hershberger Rd. Below is a Google Maps satellite link showing the location.
Please feel free to comment (use the Comment link at the end of this post) to tell me some of your memories or songs that trigger them. Music is definitely a powerful thing.
One more thing unrelated to this is the new mailing list that I’ve setup. Please go and sign up with your email address so you get updates when new things are done to the site. Thanks and I expect all of you to sign up. There is a link for the Mailing List also over on the right hand side as well.
New Job
Well I finally got a new job that is a permanent fulltime position. I will be starting this new venture on September 26, 2007. This new job will put me only 15 minutes from home reducing my drive from around 90 minutes a day roundtrip to just about 30 minutes a day roundtrip. I know my wallet will thank me when it comes to gas and the car will thank me for not driving it in the ground anymore. My last day at my contract job will be September 25, 2007 and then I’ll hit the ground running the next day. Wish me luck!
Pictures Pictures and more Pictures
Well I uploaded a boat load of new pictures. Check them out in the photo gallery. I uploaded over 100 new pictures. Granted some are old but new to the gallery. Enjoy.
